Scottsdale, Arizona's Papago Inn was looking to rebrand their restaurant and lounge along with their hotel's interior remodel. The goal was to blend mid-century modern, architectural style with the rustic flavor of Scottsdale and nearby Papago Park. The concept: Mad men flare, meets mid-century design, meets rustic, desert terrain. A particular 1950's photograph of the actual "Hole in the Rock", found a mile from the hotel, inspired the owners to rename the hotel after this popular landmark and gave them a design direction. The branding color palette derives from the interior's, 1950's, southwest color scheme. The result is a family of graphics that can fulfill signage, marketing and various print material needs.
